Construction recovery gains momentum

Construction recovery gains momentum, but infrastructure activity remains flat in Northern Ireland, according to our latest UK Construction Market Survey

Planning functions will transfer from the Department of Environment to 11 new Councils on 1 April 2014, under the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and in new subordinate legislation. In order to meet its new statutory responsibilities, the Northern Ireland Environment Agency is engaging with its stakeholders in a series of capacity building seminars to raise their awareness on its new processes under the Planning Reform Programme.

We have been allocated limited places for a half–day workshop on 20 November for members to influence policy on contaminated land. For more information or to attend the seminar, please contact Dr Patrice Cairns (e:pcairns@rics.org).
